was there at the College that Brian was introduced and encouraged to attend
Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.  Upon graduating from Gardendale High School,
Brian's pastor ordained him should any church request him to pastor or minister.  Brian
went on to graduate with a bachelors degree and returned to Birmingham to work
again beside his pastor and marry his college sweetheart, Tamara Mitchell.  They have
one daughter, Tambrianna, and one son, Brian Jr, who steals the heart of all they
encounter.  Brian's goal is to help people recognize the best in them and to encourage
them to receive the love and salvation of Christ so that they may become more than a
conqueror in all of their endeavors.
Tamara Smith - First Lady, Crossview Church
Tamara was born in Montgomery,
Alabama.  She was brought up in the
church by her praying grandmother who
made sure that all the grandchildren in
the family were saved and baptized in
the church before reaching adulthood.
She was baptized at an early age at
Bethel Baptist Church in Montgomery.
Her family moved to Birmingham in 1982
and she finished the Birmingham City
School system with honors.  She later
graduated from the University of
Alabama in Birmingham with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Biology.  While at
UAB, a colleague witnessed the gospel to
her and she dedicated her life to Christ
with a clearer understanding as an adult. After this experience her life changed as she
thirsted more for God’s word.  She began to grow and live by the spirit instead of by the
flesh.  Her hunger for God and His Word led her to seek a more holy and spirit led
church that operated in the gifts of the spirit.  As she searched for that church she
found that God wanted her to realize that it was not the church, but the relationship of
God with His people that was more important.   She prayed for God to fill her with His
Holy Spirit after others had prayed for her but it wasn’t until she was alone with God
that she received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit by faith and consistent prayer.  Tamara
has endured many life altering challenges, but God has shown her that He has a special
plan for her life.  She is constantly reminded that God has saved her from death and
danger through various experiences in everyday life.  Her desire is to continue to study
and grow in the Word and make sure that people everywhere come to a saving
relationship with Jesus Christ.  Her goal is to witness the gospel to the unsaved and
encourage others to keep pressing onward toward the mark of the high calling which is
in Christ Jesus.

Brian is a native of Birmingham, Alabama.
He is the youngest of three children.  In his
early years, Brian felt a calling on his life
and answered that call at the age of ten.
Through spiritual guidance and direction
Brian was licensed after delivering his first

years later, Brian was encouraged to enroll
in the Birmingham-Easonian Bible College.
At that time, it was not a practice for
children to attend classes.  However under
the special circumstances, he was granted
the privilege to attend.  He was the youngest
person ever admitted to the college.  It

Sister Mary retired from BB&T Bank as a Deposit Operations Specialist.  On a visit to
Birmingham, she was introduced to the love of her life Eli Jackson.  After 3 years, they
married and established a combined family of 4 daughters, 4 sons, 14 grandchildren, 1
great grandson and 2 God granddaughters.  She enjoys reading, cooking, and spending
time with family.  She also enjoys watching football and drag racing (I would have never
guessed that last one...wow).  She REALLY loves her church and church family. She prays
to God for guidance in the roles she plays in the church.  She states, "I believe in loving
others as God is loving me...and to do unto others as I would have them to do unto me."
Another of her famous quotes that everyone loves is "Crossview is a church whose doors
swing open on the hinges of love."
Mary was born and raised in Huntsville,
AL as the oldest of three children.  She
was brought up in church by her
grandmother who was a mother of the
church. She was a spirit-filled woman
who believed in going to Sunday
School and that's where her start
began.  Her mother was a God fearing
praying woman that made sure
